CENTRAL CITY - David N. Kohl, 43, of Central City died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central City. Monsignor Nelson Newman will officiate. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a vigil service at 7, at the church. Wagner Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kohl was born on June 6, 1967, at Paso Robles, Calif., to Ken and Carolynn (Lovejoy) Kohl and Don and Sandy (Butler) Bragg.
He married Michelle M. Pfeifer on April 29, 1995, at Lindsay Holy Family.
Survivors of the immediate family include his parents; his wife; two sons, Colton Kohl and Dillon Kohl, both at home; two daughters, Allison Kohl, at home, and Lakin Kohl of Omaha; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott and Maria Kohl of Central City and Clay and Lacey Bragg of San Miguel, Calif.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mechell and Matt Djernes of Central City and Sherryl Bragg Hernandez of Paso Robles, Calif.
Additional survivors include his grandmother, Marcella Kohl Mowinkle; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dennis and Joan Pfeifer of David City; a brother-in-law and his wife, Brian and Jen Pfeifer of Lincoln; a sister-in-law and her husband, Melissa and Craig Pritchard of Kearney; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He grew up in California, and in 1979, when Dave was 12 years old, the family moved to Central City. He attended Central City Public Schools and graduated in 1985.
The couple lived in Central City and Dave worked at Atlantic Homes for 10 years. In 2005, he started Kohl and Bosak Construction, where he was working at the time of his death.
Dave was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, National Bowhunters Association, River Rat Association, Sportsman's Club, Valley View and the Homeowners Association of Central City. He was also on the Board of Directors for Cottonwood Estates and the Junior wrestling program. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and taught hunter's education classes in Central City. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather, LaVerne Kohl, and grandparents, Howard and Ila Kuhn Lovejoy.
David married Michelle Pfeifer on 29 Apr 1995 in Lindsay, Nebraska. Michelle was born on 25 Jun 1970.
