WEST POINT — Services for Marcella “Sally” Mowinkel, 94, of Beemer will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. The Rev. Judith Rainforth will officiate with burial in the Beemer Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., all at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point.
She died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at Colonial Haven in Beemer.
1923-2017
Marcella Ann Faust was born on June 8, 1923, to Antone and Mary (Morrise) Faust in Tilden. Sally was the fifth child of 11 growing up in Tilden.
In June of 1948, she married LaVern Kohl, and the couple moved to Beemer in 1951. Sally worked at Delmonts Café for 25 years until she retired.
In April of 1992, she married Russell Mowinkel.
Sally was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, doing crafts, playing bingo and socializing with friends.
Survivors include her spouse, Russell of Beemer; her daughters, Diane Lemieux of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Nancy Gatzemeyer of Bancroft, Judy (Darrell) Fuhr of Leigh and Patsy (Allen) Hanson of Omaha; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Kohl of Central City; a son-in-law, Paul (Maren) Reppert Jr. of West Point; her stepchildren, George (Jayne) Mowinkel of West Point, Dan Mowinkel of Scribner, Sally (Rodger) Hiebenthal of Herman, Diane (John) Capazo of Papillion, Sandy Witt of Sebring, Fla., and Bill (Mary Jo) Mowinkel of Grand Island. She will be missed by 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; her spouse, LaVern Kohl; a son, Kenneth Kohl; a daughter, Sharon Reppert; a son-in-law, Dennis Gatzemeyer; a grandson, David Kohl; and a stepdaughter-in-law, Pam Mowinkel.
A lunch at Grace Lutheran Church hall will follow the burial.

Maynard began farming two miles west of Norfolk after returning from serving his country, and continued until retirement in the mid 1980s. He will also be remembered by many farmers around the Norfolk area for his years working as the Walnut Grove Feeds delivery driver. Marie died on March 18, 1985. Maynard later married Luella Schack on January 1, 1991, and lived in Oregon, before he returned to Norfolk in 1997 to be closer to family. On September 9, 1998, Maynard became a resident of the Norfolk Veterans Home, where he resided until his death on March 2, 2012.Maynard is survived by his son, Robert J. Mary Ann Lesley, 75, of Idabel, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Brookewood Nursing Home in DeQueen, Arkansas.
The daughter of Anton and Mary (Morsey) Faust, Mary was born on June 26, 1935 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She married Jack Lesley at Hugo, Oklahoma and had lived in this community for over forty years. Mary retired from Oak Grove Nursing Home in 1992 and enjoyed things such as playing bingo, working puzzles, gardening, fishing and spending time with her family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; two grandchildren, Erica Lesley and Melissa Lesley; seven sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her six children, Tommy Lesley and his wife, Sandy of Oak Hill Community, David Lesley and Terry Lesley, both of HollyCreek, Cheryl Autrey and her husband, Denford of Garvin, Brenda Latham of Broken Bow, Sandra Herd of Garvin; two brothers, Melvin Faust of California and Elvin Faust of Nebraska; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
